Sonoma County Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) 

Everyone can now afford to switch to solar power!  Sonoma County has created the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) and is one of the first counties in the nation to implement a municipal financing program for solar energy using Assembly Bill 811 (AB 811).

Sonoma County’s Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) finally makes solar accessible to all propety owners: 

• Zero money down
• No credit check
• Your property is security for the solar loan, which is repaid through a voluntary assessment to your property taxes
• Most homes and businesses realize immediate savings with loan payments lower than your current electricity bills
• Assessments are attached to the property, not the owner – if you sell the property, the new owner takes over the payments
• First come, first served as funds are limited
