PLA Welcomes New Solar Energy Partner
February 21, 2010- The Professional Longboard Association is pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement with a new Solar Energy partner, Sequoia Solar.
A California based company, Sequoia Solar helps enable individuals, families, businesses, and communities to harness not only the power of the sun, but their own power to take charge of their energy costs, reduce their impact on the environment, and generate positive change. Sequoia Solar’s complete suite of solar services offers innovative energy solutions that meet the highest standards of integrity, quality, and sustainability.
“Sequoia Solar is excited to be supporting the PLA series by providing our solar truck to power the PLA events and making them as environmentally friendly as possible. With our headquarters in Solana Beach, we are immersed in the California surf culture and count a number of surfers on our team”, said David Boylan, Director of Marketing for Sequoia Solar.
In 2009, the PLA became the first surf series to be fully operational on Solar Energy. The PLA and its previous solar partner combined to bring solar energy to the final two events of the 2009 season. Now with new partner, Sequoia Solar, the PLA will continue to help educate people on renewable energy, and show event directors of all kinds how to help create a smaller carbon footprint at events.
You can check out Sequoia Solar’s Solar truck at the PLA’s first 2010 event in Ocean Beach on February 27-28.
